The Nokia N97 has received a firmware update taking the 3.5-inch touchscreen smartphone up to firmware version v.22.0.110. From what we can see this is pretty much a maintenance update, making the operating system a little more robust and stable. Read on to find out more about the Nokia N97 firmware v.22.0.110 update.
The Nokia N97 may have fallen out of favour of late but there are still sufficient numbers out there to warrant Nokia supporting it with a firmware update, taking the device from v.21.0.45 to v.22.0.110. The big news with the previous update was the arrival of Ovi Maps on the Nokia N97 and its free turn-by-turn navigation. While we won't see anything quite so grand on this update it's still an essential update to help keep your Nokia working in the best possible condition.
According to the guys over at Symbian World, the Nokia N97 firmware v.22.0.110 update is only available at the moment Over the Air (OTA) but it should be coming to the Nokia Software Updater over the course of the next week or so.
It's worth bearing in mind that Nokia updates roll out around the world at different times, so while the update is out there is may be a few days, or even weeks, before it starts to show up. The only thing you can do is regularly check your handset for the update.
As an example, we've not received the v.22.0.110 firmware update on our Nokia N97 yet so we can't comment on the changes but if you want to see what's in store, check out the changelog below.
