Firefox has long been one of the most popular desktop internet browsers, and Mozilla is now looking to take on the mobile phone market with the introduction of Firefox Mobile.

Firefox Mobile has lots of offer when it comes to web browsing, not least the possibility of plug-ins. With the ability to add features such as ad blockers, YouTube plug-ins and more, it’s a lot like having a full desktop browser on your mobile phone.

Mozilla has also included its Awesome Bar, which lets you search from a list of search providers, or offers suggestions from your history or bookmarks as soon as you start typing an address or web page. The Awesome Bar also learns, pushing your more popular pages to the top of the list for faster browsing.

At present, Firefox Mobile is only compatible with the Nokia N900, with no support for other Nokia smartphones. However, it seems only fitting that one of the best browsers should make its first appearance on one of the best smartphones, and hopefully we’ll see Symbian supported in the near future.

Firefox Mobile 1.1 is available for my older Nokia N810 tablet as well.
I installed the 12Mb upgrade yesterday.
Seems much quicker than the previous version to me.

Do you guys know if Firefox Mobile will come out for Symbian 3? I hope to get an N8 soon and it would be nice to have top spec browser like that. Also, this is being a bit greedy, but will you guys do a special games preview for the N8 before it comes out, as I\’ve heard a lot about the N8\’s gaming potential but not seen much of the actual games which may hit the phone.
