Is Nokia N9 The Nokia E7: Here's The Proof!

We've all been guessing and assuming the mystery device is anything from the high-end Nokia N9 to a more mainstream Nokia C Series device. However, a little digging around has turned up that it's actually most likely to be the Nokia E7. Read on and find out why we think the mystery Nokia N9 is in fact the Nokia E7.

We have to admit, we've become a little obsessed with the true identity of the Nokia N9. OK, we'll hold our hands up, we thought the mystery QWERTY device doing the rounds for the last couple of weeks was most likely to be a Nokia C Series device as it says C0-00 on the rear. However, as NokNok reader abun880007 mentioned, this is a trick Nokia has used before to keep people off the scent.

Ever since the guys over at The Nokia Blog mentioned that the mystery device is set to come with a 4-inch screen we've been pondering what other rumoured Nokia smartphone is expected to ship with such a screen and be powered by the Symbian^3 operating system?

This had us trawling through the rumour mill files and sure enough, the Nokia E7 is sitting pretty in lime green with a QWERTY keyboard, 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen and that all important Symbian^3 operating system. There's more, while there was no mention of processor speed, memory is said to consist of 256MB of RAM and 1024MB of ROM. The rumour rounds out with a claim of launch and on-sale of July 2010.

This sounds like pretty convincing argument to us. So, if Nokia about to go live with the Nokia E7? That's anyone's guess at this stage but it does seem most likely that this device is going to be a funky business-focussed smartphone.

While we talking about rumour mill devices, we took another look through the above list and apart from the Nokia E7 being a no-show so far, the only other smartphone not to have materialised is the Nokia X9. Now, when this was leaked it was nothing more than mock-ups so may well be a prank call.

However, with so much activity around the Nokia E7 (or Nokia N9 at TechBuffalo insists on calling it), including it getting wiped by Nokia, surely it's only a matter of time before this amazing looking handset gets announced?

    Do you guys understand the term “Here’s The Proof!” come on. Please dont give us bullshit headings to draw us in as it just makes the site a place for worthless infomation which in the end makes noknok.tv a no go for infomation. i think you would have had as much of click though with something like “N9, N8-01 or E7″

    the code \"CO-OO\" basically means that it\’s a prototype device. nothing to do with C-series, as you\’ll see the same code on the N8 protos.
