Nokia recently announced a bunch of smartphones could now be bought with a free in-car kit but what happens if you have a Nokia X6 already, for example, and want to use it in your car with Ovi Maps? The Brodit Active Holder for the Nokia X6 consists of a cradle for your Nokia smartphone and a universal charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter in your car. The holder sits in a neat little ball joint, so you can tilt the Nokia X6 to the angle you can see it best.
The Brodit Active Holder charger is attached to the holder using a long flex, so allows you to reach your cigarette charger no matter where you decide to position the sat-nav.
The Nokia X6 is held firmly into the Brodit Active Holder thanks to two specially designed arms on the top half of the cradle. You'll also find that it slide directly into the charger, so as long as the other end is plugged in you don't need to worry about running out of juice.
The Brodit logo at the base of the holder has a small lip, which also acts to hold the Nokia X6 firmly in place. We found once slotted in place our Nokia X6 never moved unless we physically did it ourselves.
When it comes to attached the Brodit Active Holder for the Nokia X6 to your car there are four pre-drilled holes. However, if you don't want to drill holes into your car, there is always the universal suction cup attachment, which for less than £10 (inc. VAT) saves making a mess.
If you're looking to make the most of Ovi Maps on the Nokia X6, then the Brodit Active Holder for the Nokia X6 is a fantastic choice. It's well built, holds your smartphone firmly in place and because it's far less bulky than most holders out there, doesn't feel bulky or intrusive.
