Sudoku-cube-free-review-frontSudoku has been around for donkey’s years, but it’s only the last decade or so where it’s started to take on the humble crossword as the puzzle of choice. Now you can get Sudoku on your Nokia smartphone, with the Sudoku Cube FREE app. Join us after the break to find out if it’s any good…

Sudoku is a fantastic way of keeping your brain active, and a equally good way of passing the time when you’re bored on the move. Sudoku Cube FREE offers a host of features, and unlike paper versions you’ll never have to find another pencil again.

In a bid to suit all types of Sudoku player, you’ll find six difficulty levels on offer. This means that everybody – from those just taking up the game, to hardened Sudoku veterans – should find something on offer from Sudoku Cube FREE.

We can’t comment on the latter, being somewhat challenged when it comes to mastering this game, but the easier levels are definitely playable for those just taking up the game.

Graphics wise, Sudoku Cube FREE offers everything you’d expect from a puzzle game, and few surprises. The pink hue of the game is a little overwhelming, and may get you some odd glances if playing on the tube, but we found it otherwise perfectly viewable on our Nokia N97 Mini.

In addition to being able to change level settings - from easy to hard - you'll also be able to autosave up to five different games, so even if you decide to start a new game, you don't automatically have to give up on a particular tricky game.

We found Sudoku Cube FREE quick to respond, and one of the great things it offers that regular Sudoku can’t is the ability to quickly try out different numbers – without the need to faff around trying to rub out wrong numbers before new ones can be tried.

Overall then, Sudoku Cube FREE is a great little application, offering pretty much everything we expected. There’s nothing extra here – if you don’t like Sudoku you won’t like this game – but if you do it’s more than a little addictive.
