Robbie Williams and the lads from Take That may have patched up their differences for the sake of the next instalment of their retirement fund but it seems trouble is brewing. Nokia has announced details that Robbie Williams is actually more popular among Ovi Music users than all of the Take That catalogue. Read on to find out why Robbie Williams is a download smash…
After 15 years of doing his own thing, it seems that Robbie Williams is returning to the role that made him famous, the cheeky one in Take That. He can return safe in the knowledge that when it comes to music downloads, he’s a bigger hit than Take That, whooping them on Ovi Music downloads by a staggering 3:1 ratio.
According to the latest download figures from Ovi Music, it seems the one-time ‘fat dancer from Take That’ tops the ultimate Man-Band in actual number of downloads. As you would expect, it’s the UK where the biggest fans of Take That live, with Finland, Germany and Singapore coming next. Robbie seems to be a little more continental being popular in Germany, Austria and Italy.
Robbie’s biggest download hit to-date is the recent ‘Bodies’, followed by ‘You Know Me’, ‘Feel’ and then his biggest selling physical single ‘Angels’. Meanwhile, according to Ovi Music downloads, their single, ‘Greatest Day’, is the most popular Take That song of all time, followed by ‘Rule The World’ and ‘Up All Night’. Their classics ‘Back for Good’, ‘Never Forget’ and ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ also make the top ten.
The choice of downloads reflects the changing audiences for both acts, as many of their early music seems not to fair quite as well as the most recent. However, with the fab boys getting back together again it seems there is a resurgence in interest and Ovi Music is seeing a demand for both Robbie Williams and Take That tracks!
You can download Take That or Robbie Williams from Nokia Music or you can get the everything for free with your Comes With Music account.
