The Orange Wednesdays app is similar to its cinema namesake, offering 2 for 1 cinema tickets and all you’ll need to see the latest films at your local cinema. Orange Wednesdays has been around for Orange customers and cinema goers for a little while now, but the Orange Wednesdays app from the Ovi Store takes the experience to a whole new level.
Orange Wednesdays is no longer just about getting two tickets for the price of one, with the Orange Wednesdays app offering everything you need to know about what’s on and where you can see it.
The menu immediately shows the latest releases, with a cover shot, length, rating and details of who stars in the film offered alongside. There are tabs at the top of the app to change from latest releases to most popular to a simple A-Z, ensuring that you don’t miss any films that are on your radar.
If you want to know more about the films, simply click on the box with that film in, where you’ll be offered the plot of the story, further details and a user rating (marked as a percentage). You can also read up on reviews from the experts – with brief summaries from titles including The Sun, The Daily Telegraph and View London.
If you do decide you like the look of the film, simply click on view show times, and you’ll be given a list of times for your nearest cinema – using the GPS chip in your mobile phone to check your nearest cinemas. You’ll also be able to check with cinemas further afield by searching via post codes.
Orange Wednesdays offers a full list of upcoming films – again organised with details of all the upcoming films in the main screen, and a more detailed synopsis offered once you click on the film itself.
It’s even possible to download trailers of films, simply by pressing the icon of the film itself. This works both for present films, and upcoming films, ensuring you need never miss a decent film again.
As always, you’ll need to be an Orange customer to use Orange’s 2 for 1 deal, but even without that the Orange Wednesdays app is a must have for movie lovers.
One thing that is worth noting is that Orange Wednesdays is a large file, and you may also have to download Qt software libraries first, so if you have a restricted data plan, or are on Pay as You Go, it’s worth downloading over Wi-Fi.
