We really liked the Nokia C3 when we got our hands on one, with this budget QWERTY handset representing phenomenal value for money. It seems like we’re not the only ones, however, as we’ve been looking round the web to see what other sites think. Join us after the break to find out more…
The Nokia C3 really is good value for money. With prices starting at just £80, you get a handset with a full QWERTY keyboard that’s perfect for text messaging and emailing, and features such as Wi-Fi are even thrown into the mix.
While we rate the Nokia C3 as one of the best budget handsets currently available, we were curious to see what other sites have written about Nokia’s new baby.
Electric Pig lavished the Nokia C3, starting off by making complimentary comments on its build quality: “At a glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Nokia C3 had fallen straight out of Nokia’s expensive Eseries of business smartphones.”
And although the site acknowledges that the paired back functionality on the C3 isn’t going to appeal to business users, “for Facebook obsessed tweens and those who want nothing more than a reasonably sized screen for texting, it’s perfect”.
Hear hear! Tech Radar echo our own thoughts on the Nokia C3’s sublime keypad, mentioning that “as is often the case, Nokia has made a very good job of the key quality and layout. We find it difficult to fault”.
That said, the site does go on to criticise the 2.4-inch screen, pointing out that “it’s far from ideal for media-rich activities like web browsing”. Fair point, but some of us would trade a larger screen for the sublime keypad every time – especially when there are so many mobile specific sites – Facebook and Twitter included – already in existence.
Another site to praise the Nokia C3’s build quality is Know Your Mobile, stating that “the device is beautifully crafted featuring a metal back plate and high-shine plastic on the front, which looks, at first glance like it’s metal.”
Value for money all round then. By and large, it would appear that most people do indeed like the Nokia C3, even if some of us have been spoiled by high-end smartphones in the past few years.
We’d like to know what you think, however. Will you be saving up for one, or would you prefer a big touchscreen over the Nokia C3’s QWERTY keypad?
