Global travel site TripAdvisor has announced a partnership with Nokia that will see the launch of a dedicated app and integration of its services into the excellent Ovi Maps app. Join us after the cut for more on TripAdvisor and Ovi Maps...
The service will enable users to search for hotels, restaurants and local attractions, complete with reviews from TripAdvisor's 15 million users, as well as view the latest flight information. The app will be available in 12 languages, with a full global roll-out expected to be completed within a month.
Nokia UK head of services Rupert Englander says the partnership will only benefit both parties: “we want to make booking flights, accommodation and sharing your travel experiences as familiar as using your mobile for navigation. We believe that combining the number one travel recommendation site with the best online maps service will do just that.”
TripAdvisor joins an already formidable lineup including Lonely Planet, Qype, Michelin and Time Out as added-value partners to Nokia's Ovi Maps navigation platform, which includes turn-by-turn voice guidance for 74 countries in 46 languages and detailed maps for more than 180 countries.
With Ovi Maps already proving itself as one of, if not the best satellite navigation apps on any platform, at any price, it's a mouth watering prospect.
