Design By Community: The Winning Design RevealedWe've been following the Design by Community project with interest for some time now, but now things are really hotting up. Competition between the three designs on offer has been fierce, but voting is now closed and a winner has emerged. Join us after the cut to see which design triumphed.

All three of the Nokia Design by Community concepts were conceptualised using the “design language” already in play on existing Nokia lines. Maybe that explains why voting was so close: of the total of 18,036 votes cast around the world in a week-long popularity contest between the trio of concept sketches, no one design emerged with more than 40 per cent of the vote.

However, Sketch 1 was nonetheless a clear winner, picking up in excess of 1,700 more votes than Design 2 and 2,000 more than Design 3. However, the closeness of the vote proves both that people's tastes are decidedly varied, and that a collaborative project of any sort is bound to prove popular with at least some people.

So what happens now? Well, the winning design will now be returned to our Design by Community design team for a high-quality professional render. We'll be sure to keep you posted on the latest updates.

I voted design 3, design 1 looks to much like a N8. But design 3 has looks from the e72.
