The Nokia 5230 has proved something of a successful entry-level smartphone but it looks like it may be about to be superseded by the Nokia 5250. This new handset that appears to take a leaf out of the Nokia X6 in terms of a more square-off shape. Read on to find out more about the Nokia 5250 replacing the Nokia 5230...
The Nokia 5230 is a 3.2-inch smartphone running the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS that can be picked up in the UK for as little as £80 on PAYG. Sure, it lacks Wi-Fi and the camera is a rather pedestrian 2-Megapixel but the build quality and battery life make it a great first-time smartphone.
So, the appearance of the Nokia 5250 seems a little odd, it seems to ignore the new Nokia naming and numbering convention and with no clear tech spec breakout seems to be a device in need of a role. The naming convention can be ignored, as we're still waiting for the likes of the Nokia 5228 to launch. But the lack of tech spec would suggest this phone may be little more than a mock-up at this stage.
The Nokia 5250 appears to take its design cues from the Nokia X6 with its square-off edges but the large bezel would suggest it may have a smaller screen – 2.8-inch possibly? At this point nothing is known about this handset but with Nokia constantly trickling down top tech into its entry-level handsets we can be sure it'll offer the user more than the Nokia 5230 but for a similar price.
What do you think, is the Nokia 5250 likely to appeal or is it a little too basic for the more serious smartphone user? Let us know what you think in the Comments below.
