Joining the fray of combo-driven puzzlers on the Ovi Store is Globalo. It's a game that has you matching same-coloured planets to reap points galore. Find out what we think of it in our Globalo review. This way!
The aim of the game in Globalo is to clear the mini galaxy portrayed on your Nok off the on-screen planets by matching same coloured planets up by connecting them together with a touch of your finger.
Once they're connected you'll see a dotted line linking them up. That's your cue to tap once more to make them vanish. Do this quickly enough and they'll disappear. Dither and they'll come into contact with another planet, forcing you to lose a life (you get an extra one per every 1,000 points) and connect them up once more. Once you've cleared the level of planets you'll be able to hop into the next planet-packed galaxy.
It's dead easy to play, and mildly fun without ever getting too exciting. You get three modes in which to play around in: Clear, Duo and Triple.
Clear mode lets you connect planets within a space, as long as it's a minimum of two. Once you've cleared the space or are left with just one planet on screen you'll move onto the next level. In Duo you have to clean the space of floating planets, linking at least two, but if stray planets are left more will appear, as opposed to the level ending with one stray planet meandering about. Triple is the same, but you'll need to link three planets simultaneously, as opposed to just the two.
The different modes are a welcome bit of variety to a game that would have otherwise felt samey throughout. To an extent it does feel samey anyway, but for some that will be no bad thing. Everything Globalo sets out to do it, executes well enough. But it's hardly addictive, and there are much better alternatives.
Worth a download? If you're stuck on a train then Globalo is more than capable of wasting away the minutes. As we've said, it doesn't do a great deal wrong. But if you want a better, similar alternative we highly recommend Exclusion. It has better graphics, gameplay and will last a whole lot longer. Like Globalo, it's also free!
