The Nokia X5-00 and Nokia X5-01 may well be about to get a wider global release as images of both devices have appeared on the Nokia Ovi Store device selector. The Nokia X5-00 is the candybar phone that looks like the C2, while the Nokia X5-01 is a square QWERTY device. Read on to find out more about the Nokia X5-00 and Nokia X5-01 smartphones...
The Nokia X5-00 and Nokia X5-01 must be due for a release as we spotted them on the device finder for the Nokia Ovi Store. When announced, Nokia claimed both devices would be making an appearance in the third quarter of the year, which nicely fits in with their arrival on the Ovi Store.
Now, both devices may share a similar name but they have quite different striking looks. The Nokia X5-00 is a candybar phone with non-touch 2.4-inch screen that is running the Symbian S60 3rd Edition OS. Intended for the Chinese market it'll be able to make full use of the dual GSM/TD-SCDMA band mode.
The Nokia X5-01 on the other hand is a QWERTY Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone that very much follows the square and funky styling of the Nokia X3 slider. The Nokia X5-01 has a 5-Megapixel CCD camera with 4X digital zoom and an LED flash. Then there is 200MB of storage and a microSD slot good for up to 32GB of storage. What’s more, it's set to come in an array of fresh colours, including Blue, Pink, Purple and Yellow, with a more modest Black edition set for later launch.
Neither the Nokia X5-00 or Nokia X5-01 have shown up as being for pre-order here in the UK as of yet, so pricing is yet to be fixed. As soon as we have more news on either of these devices hitting the stands we'll let you know.
