V Festival 2010 App review V Festival 2010 is a neat little app that is designed to take the hassle and stress out of getting to either of the two V Festival sites, as well as making life a whole lot easier once you’re there by offering you full gig schedules as well as essential information on making the most of your stay. Read on to find out how useful the V Festival 2010 app from Ovi Store truly is…

If you’re lucky enough to have tickets for the V Festival 2010 at either of the Chelmsford or Staffordshire sites then you’ll be eagerly awaiting the bank holiday weekend. This free app from the Ovi Store works with any touchscreen Nokia, we’ve been testing it out on our Nokia X6 but it will work just as well on the Nokia N97 Mini or Nokia 5800.

V Festival 2010 allows you to choose between the two sites and consists of four tabs for each site: Social, V Info, Line-Up and Map. Social allows you to keep in touch with what’s going on using the V Festival Twitter and YouTube channels, as well as allowing you to send you own Tweets and upload images easily to Flickr and Facebook.

V Info gives you a whole wealth of information from getting there to making the most of your stay. What’s more, as it taps into the GPS in your Nokia smartphone it’ll be able to guide you to the site with ease. You’ll also find a Weather app has been integrated so you can pack accordingly, if that’s the way you like to plan.

Line-Up at the moment is pretty much a static page with just a highlight of the bands playing but we’ve been assured that you’ll be able to use this page as your scheduler, plans which stage you need to be at and when, as well as keep tabs on which acts are bringing the spirit of V Festival 2010 to life.

Map is another work in progress at this stage but with the next update should give you an interactive overview of the site you’re visiting, as well as letting you know what’s happening.

The V Festival 2010 app may very much be a work in progress at this stage but it feels as though it’s well thought through and should make life at the festival a lot less hectic. Sure you’re going to be reliant on your 3G connection when you’re out in the field but we’ve found our initial tests showed it to be a quick and fairly pain free app to use.
