white-nokia-n8The Nokia N8 hasn’t been officially launched to market yet but that hasn’t stopped one very lucky site from giving a rather considered review of the Nokia N8 and the Symbian^3 operating system in particular, claiming that it has been ‘dragged kicking-and-screaming into the 21st Century with multiple homescreens, widgets and live tiles.’ Read on to find out more about the first Nokia N8 Symbian^3 review…

As far as we’re aware, the Nokia N8 isn’t finished yet. Sure the hardware is in place and ready to rock but so far Nokia hasn’t given any indication whether the Symbian^3 is ready to launch, which is why we’re still waiting for a launch date.

However, that hasn’t stopped one site from getting a little over-excited and running its first Nokia N8 review using a pre-production model. We’ve seen this happen before but it seems this time the reviewers have no agenda other than to scoop the first Nokia N8 review.

This means the Nokia N8 review on Know Your Mobile is rather balanced, especially the parts about the Symbian^3, as the reviewer points out they had fallen out of love with the Symbian OS but with the arrival of Symbian^3 can clear see the appeal, or as they put it ‘is a fine first outing for the new and vastly improved Symbian^3 OS.’

When it comes to the hardware, ‘the Nokia N8’s touchscreen keyboard is absolutely brilliant. We really can’t praise it enough’. Then there is the performance, which is fast enough for even the heaviest of data users. The guys even hooked up the Nokia N8 to a HD TV to share video shot using the 12-Megapixel camera and were impressed with how well it handled everything.

Sadly, the review doesn’t run with any new pics or screenshots of the Symbian^3 OS in action, which we’re assuming was part of the agreement with however borrowed them the handset in the first place. Still, will high praise indeed for a pre-production model, how good is the finished Nokia N8 going to be?
