Ovi Store game review: Bash A MoleWhack A Mole comes to the Ovi Store in the form of Bash A Mole. An invasion of the tunneling critters have bombarded your lawn, and its up to you to show 'em! We've been here before, with the previously reviewed Whac-a-Mole, but Bash A Mole really shows how it's done. Read on for our Bash A Mole review.

Back in June we reviewed a game called Whac-a-Mole. We didn't like it one bit. It didn't work full screen, menus were small and difficult to read and the gameplay was seriously laggy. Thankfully, with Bash A Mole, there's no such problems.

From starting Bash a Mole up it's immediately clear that it might be pretty good. And it is. The introduction sequence and menus are well presented, letting you in on the story before letting you peep high scores and the instructions from the colourful main menu.

Starting a game, the visuals continue to be a welcoming sight, and unlike in Whac-a-Mole there's plenty of room for even the most generously proportioned fingers. The aim is  to bash as many moles as possible, as they pop up from the holes you see as quickly as possible. Just tap on them them to send them back down where they belong. We're glad to report no troubling sign of lag, the controls are as sensitive as you'd like them to be - just as well, with the moles getting quicker the more you progress there's lots of 'em.

Despite getting more and more difficult to hit every single mole Bash A Mole is never difficult. A score atop the screen lets you know how many more moles you need to hit before clearing the level. Get it down to zero before the time runs out to trigger Hyper Mode - where everything you hit multiplies your score by two with each new hit. But be careful, your pet pooch is down there too. Hit it and you lose a life, luckily you get eight lives, which we found to be more than enough to notch a decent score. Even if you're not very good, you'll want to play it again to better your score.

Bash A Mole is an addictive, free title with great graphics and fun gameplay. There isn't much to it, but what there is presents a fun Nok diversion worth having on the side.
