The Flashlight is a small app that basically uses the screen function on your Nokia smartphone, in our case the Nokia X6, as a torch. It’s not a particularly bright beam of light but it’s enough to help light your way. There is also a neat little SOS button at the bottom, so if you find yourself stranded you can send out an emergency light – you just have to hope that anyone who sees it can read Morse Code.
There will be times when having a white light will be a little too harsh, so maybe having the choice to switch to something more soothing would be nice, so you can use The Flashlight as a nightlight for child, perhaps? With this in mind you’ll find that Blue, Pink, Purple, Yellow and Green hues are on offer and you can switch between them at the tap of the screen
No, The Flashlight isn’t going to replace the feel of having a solid Maglite in your hands but it will make up for the fact on those occasions when you need a little more like, such as trying to find the right key after a long night out, or sneaking into the bedroom without disturbing anyone.
The Flashlight is actually a lot more useful than it may first seem and being small and free it won’t do any harm having it on your Nokia smartphone just in case!
