It looks like Nokia has started its Nokia N8 marketing push, with hamsters. A pet-powered video has appeared on YouTube showing the Symbian^3 Nok handset being juiced up by a hamster, along with Nokia's 'It's not technology, it's what you do with it' tag line. It's not everyday you see a hamster-powered N8. Read on for the video.
The Nokia N8 is a 3.5-inch smartphone with capacitive touchscreen. That’s cool in itself but the addition of a 12-Megapixel camera and the fact it also supports HD video recording and output courtesy of the HDMI port, means this is going to be one amazing media device when it launches. Naturally, Nokia has done its best to give the NOkia N8 the best possible battery life but we all need to charge our devices occassionally.
The inspiration for the video hails from Peter Ash's GCSE coursework. Back in 2005, Peter Ash, then aged 16 passed his GCSE exams with the help of his pet hamster, Elvis (he even featured in The Guardian).

Now, five years on, it might be the second coming of Elvis (we're guessing), but Elvis mark II appears to followed in its energetic predecessor's footsteps, with a new handset - the Nokia N8.
It's a case of blink and you'll miss it, but it's definitely there at the 25-second mark. Hit the video below to see the hamster-powered N8 in battery charging action. Not that it's ever likely you'll need to resort to hamster power. The N8 has a talk time of up to 12 hours and a music playback time of up to 50 hours.
