Nokia has released the latest version of its Ovi Suite synching software for Microsoft Windows, Nokia Ovi Suite 2.2.1.23. The update adds a host of new features and fixes some outstanding bugs and niggles with earlier versions.

Nokia Ovi Suite is Nokia's preferred way for you to connect your Nokia smartphone up to your PC. Most Nokia's nowadays can just be plugged in and mounted as a USB drive to allow easy copying of music or photos, but if you want to make sure that your contacts and SMS messages get backed up as well as having an easy way to manage the multimedia content on your pone, Ovi Suite is the way to go.

Ovi Suite now makes it easy to take your photos, music and movie clips an share them with others via Ovi Share, creating a portal to which you can quickly upload your files with your own comments and making it easy for friends to find them, download them and leave their own comments for you to read. The app also acts as a photo and movie library to manage the snaps and clips that you don't want to leave on your phone.

The stability of the Ovi Suite has been greatly improved in version 2.2.1.23. Map downloads are more reliable, video playback has improved and there is now email and calendar support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 as well as support for the Mozilla Thunderbird email client.
