One of the best things about having a big screen on your phone is that you can watch TV shows on it. Unfortunately, watching iPlayer or TVCatchUp is dependent on your having a fast internet connection. What if there was a way to watch broadcast TV via your mobile? Well, there is now, at least if you're planning on buying a Nokia N8 or similar - join us after the break to find out more...
Nokia has revealed a new device it is calling Nokia Mobile TV. At first glance, it is just a set of headphones with what looks like an unusually large set of control buttons. Hidden behind the pause and rewind keys, however, is a TV receiver capable of picking up DVB-H transmissions and displaying them on your phone.
The Nokia N8 will support Mobile TV from the get-go, as will other phones that use Nokia's USB-on-the-go features - most of the upcoming Symbian^3 phones should fall into this category.

Don't get too excited just yet, however. DVB-H doesn't work in the UK yet, so only those N8 owners in the Netherlands, Russia, Helsinki and a few other locations will be able to use it. This is hardly Nokia's fault, though, and fingers crossed the UK will get to play soon.
In the meantime, you'll be able to check out TV on many regular Nokia handsets using TVCatchUp. Check back here in the next couple of weeks to find out how.
