nokia-c3-touch-and-typeThe Nokia C3 Touch and Type is the latest addition to Nokia’s mobile phone range, being announced first thing this morning. It doesn’t share the same Symbian ^3 OS as the Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7 or Nokia N8, but it does look like cracking value. Join us after the cut to find out more…

We’ve been nothing but impressed with yesterday’s announcements, with some truly excellent handsets on display, but today’s launch of the Nokia C3 Touch and Type will appeal to an entirely different audience.

With a touchscreen display and a regular hardware keypard below, the Nokia C3 Touch and Type shares the same form factor as the Nokia X3 Touch and Type. With the latter being well received, it looks like Nokia is launching an all-out assault on the entry-level of the smartphone range, and this is excellent news for those looking for a budget handset.

The Nokia C3 Touch and Type runs S40, helping to keep costs down, and making it a better proposition for those wanting a simple user experience. The touchscreen measures in at 2.4 inches, and should be perfect for web browsing or navigating the OS, and features include a 5-Megapixel camera.

We’ll be bringing you hands on pics of the Nokia C3 Touch and Type this afternoon, so stick with us.

A “C4″ touch and type T9 slider with 2.8 to 3.2 inch capacitance would be nice, too. A little bigger screen for those who like to browse more; coupled with the convenience of one handed operation. Gotta be in the pipeline, IMO.

Oops…can they use the name C4? Imagine losing your phone in an airport and going to lost and found to ask…has anyone seen my C4? Question: where did you last see it? Answer: In my shoe…while going through the security check-in. Airport Security response: Please follow me.

    This looks like great phone!
One small mistake in article: It says “Symbian S40″. But S40 has (almost) nothing to do with Symbian but it is Nokia’s own OS which development started earlier than Symbian development did. “S” in S40 comes from “Series”, not from “Symbian”.

A C4 with WIFI, too, please!
