Nokia E7: Official photo proof! The Nokia E7 looks like being one of the most exciting Nokia’s for some time, with a truly stunning design and all-metal construction. The specs are pretty impressive as well though. Join us after the cut to find out the key Nokia E7 features…

If you’re in the market for a smartphone with both a touchscreen and a QWERTY keypad, then the new Nokia E7 looks like the perfect smartphone. Made out of anodised aluminium, it looks like the Nokia N8’s slightly bigger brother, and the specs are equally impressive.

The screen measures in at a huge 4 inches, but the Nokia E7 doesn’t feel that big in the hand. This is mostly due to the thin dimensions, measuring just over 13mm in depth. The screen uses AMOLED technology, offering stunningly bright and vivid colours.

Storage space comes in the form of 16GB of internal memory, although there’s no support for microSD cards. The camera, at 8 Megapixels, isn’t quite as impressive as the Nokia N8’s, but you should still be able to take decent photos.

Will a full focus camera allow for:

    - barcode scanning
    - business card OCR programs to function

Full focus implies a more distant focal length and therefore inability to do closeups. Just wondering if the digital zoom is sufficient for the above business functions. If not, then Nokia simply dropped the ball.

I also do not like the fact that the phone comes without FM transmitter.

IMO, the N8 with Bluetooth keyboard may well be the better business phone.

woah…………… no micro sd card WTH????????????? are they taking the ****????

I would take USB On-The-Go over a micro SD slot any day. I do think the patented QWERTY slider with thin profile limits the space to locate a micro SD. Since it does not have remove-able battery access, putting an SD slot under the battery is also a non-option. A fair compromise considering USB OTG. No AF on the camera and no FM Transmitter are its biggest let downs…IMHO.

that was my dream phone . but Nokia prevents us always from having it all
    why no FM transmitter
does the phone accept shortcuts?copy cut past etc…
can we copy text from web sites like the old 9300 ?
can we open new tabs on the web sites like the old 9300?
why no support for microSD ?
if not , then it cant be a communicator
