We reviewed the entry-level Nokia X2 last week, but since then we've been playing with our review handset's camera. With a 5-Megapixel sensor, it has the potential to be a cut above most budget rivals. Read on after the break for our full Nokia X2 camera review, and to see the sample snaps...
The Nokia X2 features one of the most impressive camera resolutions we've seen so far on an entry-level phone, and over the past couple of weeks we've been trying out the camera to see if this translates into decent photos.
There's a dedicated shutter button on the side of the Nokia X2 – along with media controls – and this button also lets you launch the camera. There's also a microSD card reader in place – letting you save all of your photos to microSD cards.

Unlike more expensive Nokia smartphones, there's no autofocus on the Nokia X2. Although this results in slightly softer images, with less clarity in some situations, it also means the camera is quicker to start up, with photos possible in seconds.
Images are a lot larger than most entry-level features phones can produce, with enough quality to print at a decent size. However, while photographs look excellent at smaller sizes, with full crops a little detail is lost. Colours are very vibrant, but sometimes over saturated.
There's a flash for nightime photos, and it works well. There are also various different settings on offer, including a self-timer, and the ability to shoot photographs in greyscale or sepia.
Overall, although the Nokia X2 can't mix it with higher-end Nokia handsets - such as the Nokia N97 Mini, with its Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus - it's still a great choice for a budget featurephone.
