Egg Timer Touch does one thing and one thing only – it lets you set the perfect timer for boiling your egg. How good is it though, and is it easy to use?
At 0.38MB, Egg Timer Touch is a very small app, so downloads in seconds. Even those on stricter data limits should be OK, although if you're worried it may still be worth downloading using Wi-Fi.
Once you've downloaded and installed the app, it opens particularly quickly, with no fuss or delay. Unlike most other apps, there's no landscape functionality – the app is set up to work in portrait mode only.
The screen is covered by a mock stainless steel finish, with a huge dial in the centre. The calibration marks go up to an hour, and just like a clock there are marks for every minute.
Simply 'twist' the dial – or press the area on screen you want to start the timer from, and let go. It then automatically counts down, with a digital display below highlighting the minutes and seconds left. With a timer sounding at the end, it's easy to boil your perfect egg.
Overall, Egg Timer Touch is a great little app. We've seen egg timing apps on the Ovi Store before – some which you have to pay for – but for us, this app provides everything we need.
