While newer Nokia handsets take all the attention, a more experienced favourite - the Nokia N900 - has been taking on all-comers in one mobile phone website's mock up smartphone championship, beating the likes of the HTC HD2 and the BlackBerry Storm 2. Now it's up against the Palm Pre. And it may just win.
Eager to crown one mobile as the best in its own Smartphone Championship, website, Fonearena has set up an online competition letting readers vote for the best Smartphones.
Having beaten off the competition so far, the Nokia N900 is now up against the Palm Pre. Both devices offer enough memory and features for the average user, including capable cameras, a great display, GPS and compatibility with a wide range of music and video formats.
As we write this the N900 is trailing slightly, but here's a few reasons why it deserves to win:
Super storage
As impressive as the Palm Pre is it lucks out in the storage stakes, with just 8GB of internal storage it trails quite a lot in comparison to the 32GB of the N900.
Corking camera
The N900's 5-megapixel camera might look like its found wanting in comparison to the N8's 12-megapixel offering, but it still performs admirably well. Megapixel counters among you will find just three on the Palm Pre.
Screen supremacy
Video looks great on both devices, but even better on N900, with its 800x480 touchscreen in comparison to the 480x320 Palm Pre.
Radio Star
You can download and listen to your favourite music on both handsets, but if you've worn out your music collection on the N900, it has a stereo with FM transmitter to help you discover more tunes.
