Choosing between the Nokia N8 and the new Nokia C7 is going to prove difficult for lots of consumers, due to the similar specs, and stunning designs on offer. The Nokia C7 does have a completely new camera, however, with a different type of focussing technology. Join us after the cut to find out more...
The Nokia N8 has one of the best cameras out of any smartphone we've seen to date, thanks to its 12-Megapixel resolution, Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus.
The Nokia C7 counters with an 8-Megapixel snapper, but with a twist. Unlike the Nokia N8, it doesn't have a regular autofocus system.

One of the big problems with autofocus, is that it needs the user to focus first to get decent photographs. If they don't, snaps will inevitably come out blurry.
The Nokia C7 uses a different type of autofocus, with EDoF (Extended Depth of Field) technology used. EDoF replaces an autofocus mechanism with a custom lens, and the results are stunning.
In place of photographs which only see the centre of the composition in focus, EDoF results in incredibly detailed photographs where even the background is in focus.
The results won't please everybody – with shots looking slightly less 'arty' – but it's definitely impressive. Especially if you like taking photographs of groups of people.
