Nokia E7 UK Release Date: January 2011?

Nokia E7Following the appearance of the Nokia E7 on Nokia’s website, we were hoping the Symbian ^3 handset would be hitting the shops in the near future. It looks like we may have to wait a little bit longer, however. Join us after the break to find out more…

We’ve seen Nokia handsets appear for sale within a month of getting their own page on Nokia’s website before. As such, we were optimistic when we saw the Nokia E7 pop up online last week.

It looks like our hopes were a bit premature, however, as the Nokia E7 has since appeared elsewhere, set for release on Monday 10th January.

Eagle-eyed reader Nema spotted the Nokia E7 on Expansys’ website, available for pre-order now. There’s a lengthy delay, though, with Expansys quoting a shipment date of “within 105 working days”.

Planning on putting your name on the list for a Nokia E7? Head over to Expansys to check it out.

I don’t think postponing the release date is such a good idea. There are a lot of phones out there, postponing it might make it bad for sales. If you make the fans wait this long, I hope its going to be worth the wait, because usually when someone in the electronic world does that, it doesn’t turn out as expected

I wouldn’t be too concerned about what expansys has posted as their delivery date for the E7. As Stylinred had mentioned, expansys puts out their pre-orders real early even if they have no idea when to expect the device. They just want to have more potential customers ordering through them than anywhere else.

Yes, there has been a pattern of Nokia not living up to it’s promise when it comes to release dates, but with the long delay of the N8 because of Symbian ^3, I think we will see the release of the E7 in Q4 for select markets since S^3 is pretty much ready and stable. Perhaps minor tweaks for E7 but nothing major since the internals are almost identical to that of the N8.

Didn’t Nokia say it would be released before Christmas?

and considering how Nokia postpones and “corrects” their own announcements I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t get released until 2011

But expansys always puts out pre-orders early and is constantly adjusting their release dates of phones accordingly
