Ovi Store game review: Football Quiz

The football season might already be in full swing but for those that can't enough of the beautiful game there's yet another to get football on your Nok in the shape of Football Quiz. A game to test even the most ardent fans football knowledge. But does it belong in the lower leagues, or the Champions League of Nok footy games? Read our review to find out.

The premise of free Ovi Store game, Football Quiz needs little explaining. It's a game packed with questions on all sorts of top-flight club and international football-related trivia.

We say packed, but that's not entirely true. While Football Quiz offers what it promises, it only does so at the bare minimum. The actual questions in the quiz and random modes, such as asking you to identify football legends from old photos, team kits for a particular team and club crests are genuinely challenging, there isn't enough variation or enough questions for a start. The quiz mode has you answering ten questions in an attempt to test your football know-how.

Revisit football quiz and you'll find yourself repeatedly answering many of the same questions, resulting in constant high scores without any real test over time of your football knowledge. The quiz mode has you answering ten questions in an attempt to test your football know-how. Maybe if it was a higher number the sense of question déja-vu wouldn't be so obvious, but it is.

Presentation is another poor point. The graphics, menu layout and user experience is terrible. The photos you'll need to see to answer some of the questions take far too long to load (around eight - ten) seconds for some, while others didn't load, leaving you to second guess on occasion, affecting your end score. And once you get to the end and answer ten out of ten, there's little motivation to keep playing.

For football fans, Football Quiz will be a major disappointment. With poor presentation, a poor user experience, lack of question variety and number and little replayability, this is one best left in the reserves.
