Ovi Store App: airPainter Review

Along with a host of genuinely useful apps, you'll also find plenty of entertaining or silly apps on the Ovi Store. airPainter falls into this category, letting you create artwork without the need to even press a button. Read on to find out more...

airPainter requires a network connection to work. As such, it may not be the ideal app if data is limited on the contract you're on, or you have a Pay as You Go SIM card.

On the plus side, airPainter has a download size of 0.01MB, so can be launched almost immediately after picking it from the Ovi Store.

Start airPainter, and you'll be met with a very simple home page. Once you've agreed to let the app have access to your network, along with access to your Nokia's sensors, you'll be able to start creating artwork.

You can choose from four different brushes – with a few different colours on offer. You can also pick between a black or a white background.

It's then a case of pressing the large start button, pointing your Nokia at the nearest wall, and wafting it around like a lunatic. Once you've created your artwork, simply press stop.

You'll then be able to email it to a mate. Despite the ease of use, it's difficult to not be disappointed by airPainter, however. It's nearly impossible to create an image that looks like what you imagine, and writing words proved out of the question for us. All we ended up with were unintelligible squiggles.

It's hard to recommend airPainter, then. We're happy to be proved wrong, however, so give it a whirl and let us know how you get on. If you create any genius artwork, leave a comment below, as we'd like to see it.
