Then read our Freeplay Music Quiz to see if it's worth prising yourself away from your music for.
As we already discovered in our Football Quiz review, not all quiz games are worth racking your brain for. Freeplay Music Quiz fares much better. It's well presented for a start, with clear menus giving you the options of playing a music quiz Round by Round or Continuous Questions.
Round by Round lets you attempt to answer up to 10 questions. Get 5 or more correct in each round and you'll be able to progress onto the next. It's more difficult than you'd think, with questions spanning genres from rock to pop to hip-hop. Luckily you have the chance to use a joker, which handily eliminates one wrong answer, making things a little more approachable for music novices. It's genuinely challenging, but you can also be sure the odd question will pop up that makes you think "got it!" so that you won't always be left scratching your head. Whatever genre of music you're into you can be sure to find some fun with the questions here thanks to the sheer variety - 1,000 in total.
If Round by Round is still too tricky you can play Continuous Questions, letting you answer as many questions as you like from the 1,000 available. It's less fun than the Round by Round mode, but for those bored on a train or bus it's a worthwhile time-waster. A Quiz Progress mode even lets you check up on how many questions out of 1,000 you've answered correctly, thought that's more for stat fans.
Overall Freeplay Music Quiz is a nice little head-scratcher that comes well presented. As fun as it is it's still definitely one for more 'hardcore' music fans, others are likely to get bored soon. But considering it's free what it does it does well. It's more of a time-waster than a game anyway. If you think you know your music, and you like quizzes give it a try. It's free after all.
