Ovi Maps changed the world of mobile satellite navigation when Ovi Maps v3.03 was released, but Nokia has still been trying to improve its premium but free service. With the help of Nokia Beta Labs – the division set up to work on the latest software – Ovi Maps v3.06 has been created, bringing a host of new improvements.

For a start, if you have a Nokia N8, Nokia C7 or other Symbian ^3 device, you'll be able to take advantage of multi-touch technology and pinch the screen to zoom.
Nokia Beta Labs has also included layers on Ovi Maps v3.06, making it easy to view public transport lines around the world. According to Nokia Beta Lab's webpage, layers are included in over 80 cities around the world.
The search function in Ovi Maps v3.06 has also been updated, now proving faster and more fluid. It's easier to share places and routes, and you can now let your friends know exactly where you are using Facebook.
