Nokia is set to update its Ovi Chat service, with a new instant messaging (IM) service. Also taking advantage of Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger and Google Talk, there's lots to like. To find out more about the new Nokia IM app, read on after the break...
There are lots of ways to communicate with your friends and family on your Nokia, from phone calls, to text messaging to instant messaging. The latter is available using Ovi Chat, but Nokia is also providing an updated service which integrates Google Talk, Windows Live Messager and Yahoo! Messenger.
Using the new app, you'll be able to communicate via all of the above clients, along with Nokia's own Ovi Chat service. You can update different status' for each of the different communities, and the new app also offers real-time notifications for new messages – even if you're using your Nokia to do something else.
You'll even be able to access the new service from your Nokia's web browser, opening up a new world when it comes to usability. Nokia owners using the older Ovi Contacts service to access Chat will still be able to access the service, but all of the new features can only be accessed using the new IM for Nokia app.
