Disks Touch is a single or two player game based on the classic Connect Four now available for free on the Nokia Ovi Store. How does the old favourite transfer to Nok phones? Read our Disk Touch review to find out.
The increasingly popularity of mobile phone games has seen a bevy of board and rainy day games arrive on mobile devices. One of the latest to arrive on the Ovi Store is Disks Touch, otherwise known as Connect Four, Four Up, Four in a Row and other such similar monikers.
Chances are you're already aware of the premise, but for those who aren't, players must drop coloured circles into a grid. The first player to get their coloured discs to appear in a row of four wins.
Players can match four of their colour in a row either vertically, horizontally or diagonally. To play simply tap your colour disk that appears above the grid, then drag either left or right to the row you want to place it and let go. Being able to win with a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row of four means there are plenty of ways to win. Matches play out just as they would in the physical version. It's deceptively challenging to win at times. There's also an option for two player play, but Disks Touch on a mobile is hardly a game two players are going to get excited about together.
Overall Disks Touch is a welcome mobile distraction more suited to passing away a few minutes than for repeatedly revisiting. But the good news is, if you like Connect Four, Disks Touch is a perfect replication. Albeit a slightly less fun one.
