We can hardly wait to get our hands on the new Nokia E7, and  according to several reports it's looking like we won't have to wait much longer. According to one reseller, the Nokia E7 could even be available in January. Read on to find out more...

The Nokia E7 is set to be Nokia's flagship smartphone, offering a mobile office experience that's perfect for business executives. It shares its design and anodised aluminium finish with the Nokia N8, but also gets a sliding QWERTY keypad.

Unlike the Nokia N8, the Nokia E7 will also get a 4-inch screen, boasting Nokia's CBD (ClearBlack Display) technology. This should make it the ideal device when it comes to viewing PDF or office documents on the move.

According to reseller Expansys, the Nokia E7 will ship on January 10th, which should see you getting a handset within the month. It won't be cheap, however, with Expansys selling the Nokia E7 at £585 (inc. VAT).

For that you will get one of the most versatile smartphones currently available, however, offering all the Nokia N8's power and adding a fantastic QWERTY keypad.

Shame it\’s got no SD slot which renders it pretty useless for many users. If it had 32GB built in then maybe – but it doesn\’t. USB on the go doesn\’t change that .

More generally, what are Nokia thinking of these days? When Nokia released the E90 several years ago it just did pretty much everything that could be done on a smartphone at the time. IMHO nothing Nokia have done since has come close to that kind of cutting edge device that does everything and (most of the time) just works.

Hardware features cut back leaving phones less \"smart\" than their hungry competitors, slow to release handsets that are already less than cutting edge by the time they reach the market and then buggy as hell with slow firmware updates once released (frequently NO firmware update if you live in the UK). Nokia have wasted time fiddling with pet projects like OVI and proprietary OS\’s while Rome burns and their \"fanbase\" grows irritated and moves on. Sad to say my next phone will probably be an HTC Desire Z as HTC seem to know what they are doing better than Nokia these days!

With all this in mind I would currently never buy a Nokia smartphone until it had been \"beta-tested\" by others for about 6 months to get all the inevitable bugs out of the way – by which time technology has moved on anyway and the phone has been surpassed.

I\’m (naively?) looking forward to the N9 releasing (if it ever does) but at this rate it will be 2012 before they even get round to it.

    A disappointed former owner of 3650, 6630, E90, and N900 user.

This looks nice but only 16 gb and no micro sd card forget it…. What a piece of crap…. This needed 64gb plus sd….. £586 on the expanses site. This phone will flop like the n97. And nokia slips back even more

Being an ex nokia fan n95,96,97 I never dreamt of switching.. I bought a galaxy s which was a good phone but lacked something. Maybe I was fed up with plastic phones I currently have an iphone4, being anti apple for a long time I now kick myself.. I was watching with hope the techno buffalo leak with the e7 but as you say above 16gb???? No micro slot??? Carry an umbilical cord to slide a flashdrive?? That’s 80′s technology. I dream of a smartphone with 128gb 4.5 inch screen plus twin micro sd slots and a USB slot for my flash drive. Wake up smartphone developers

in terms of build quality iphone 4 is awesome, this e7 should be pretty good too, although symbian will let it down and the ovi store is just shite, i have both iphone 4 and n97 im a die hard nokia fan but i am not going to pay £586 for this….. it will be £200 in a few months on ebay. plus it has a very limited market in the uk… iphone customers locked into 24 month contracts, htc blackberry have their own cults, mums and dads want simple fones, and the average nokia customer is so pi$$ed off with nokia they are trying out samsung, acer, htc super smartphones, and now the galaxy 2 is due out with 2ghz processor why would you pick a nokia???? and note the comments of lacking micro sd card………………………………………………….what are you thinking nokia???? idiots
