Both the Nokia N8 and the Nokia C7 come in an array of fresh colours but now you can show off your 'Green' credentials by opting for an eco-friendly version of your favourite new smartphone. Read on to find out more about the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 Eco-friendly models...

Nokia has teamed up with mobile operator Telefónica to offer consumers eco-friendly versions of the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 smartphones. This is more than just offering up recycled cardboard boxes and smaller packaging as you'll find the phones have been stuffed with apps to help you reduce your carbon footprint further.

Both the Nokia N8 or Nokia C7 come with a high-energy charger, so charging times are reduced and packaging is kept to a minimum with the Startup guide reduced to single piece of paper. Fire up your smartphone and you'll find an educational game, 'Climate Mission' helping you and others understand the impact of pollution, along with a number of other third-party apps.

The Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 do their part for the environment by being the most eco-friendly Nokia smartphones to-date. Both have an energy efficient AMOLED screen and pack in an energey-saving mode too. Then there are the materials the devices are made of, with the Nokia N8 using bio-plastics, while the Nokia C7 just happens to be the first smartphone to use bio-paints.

Set to launch in Spain initially, we'll be finding the “Green Customer Experience”,as it's being called, will quickly rollout to here in the UK, followed by Germany, Argentina, Peru and Chile. However, there are no firm dates as to when this rollout will happen, so here's hoping we get a chance to go green in the New Year.
