A couple of years ago, it used to be annoying when people sent phone numbers in text messages, as there was no easy way of getting the number from your inbox to your phone book. With the Nokia N8 and its Symbian ^3 operating system, it couldn't be easier. Join us after the break to find out how...
Getting a phone number from the message inbox to your Nokia N8's phone book is one of the easier tasks. If you haven't done it before, however, you may still be feeling confused, so read on.
The next time somebody sends you a phone number in a text message, you'll need to open the message from the message inbox. Don't open it using the new threaded messages feature, as the number won't be highlighted. If you do open it using Conversations (the threaded messaging feature), then click on the individual message to take you through to your inbox.
When you have opened the message, the number will then be highlighted in blue. Simply tap the number, and a small menu will pop up – offering Call, Create Message and Save to Contacts.
In this case, we obviously want Save to Contacts. Once you tap it, you'll be offered Create New and Update Existing. Both do exactly what they say, taking you to your phone book to let you add the number to a completely new contact, or letting up update existing contacts, either replacing the current number or adding it as a second or third number.
