We've seen a number of great apps pop up on the Ovi Store recently, and Trainline Tickets is the latest. If you use public transport a lot, and plan to make a train journey in the near or distant future, then check out our Trainline Tickets review to find out all you need to know...
Trainline Tickets can be downloaded in seconds, thanks to its small 0.19MB size. After a quick reboot, the app is ready to go, and features a ticket buying experience that will be similar to anybody who has used thetrainline.com – the website that Trainline Tickets works alongside.
The colours are all the same as those on the website, and there's also a large thetrainline.com logo at the top of the app. The rest of the main menu is split into three options: Find Trains, My Tickets and Information.
Click on Find Trains, and you'll be able to make loads of stipulations for your journey – from the origin and destination, to the class of ticket, to whether you have a rail card or not. You can also set the dates of your journey, letting you buy tickets in advance.
The service is secure, so you can use your credit card without worrying, and once you've used the service once, you can store the details to make it easier to buy tickets in future.
Clicking on My Tickets gives you a synopsis of what you've purchased – so if you've got several tickets lined up, you'll be able to check all the details are right, making sure you don't miss your train.
Information fills you in on everything you need to know, such as where to collect the tickets from once you've paid for them, or information on Mobile mTickets – electronic tickets accepted by some train companies.
Trainline Tickets is an excellent app if you use the train – even if it's only once in a blue moon. Along with buying tickets, it's also great for finding out particular train times, and the app makes it a quick and hassle free process.
