The Nokia X7 seems to be the next major smartphone on the horizon as more details and images of what is believed to be a gaming-focussed smartphone have emerged. With a look that combines the full-metal jacket of the Nokia N8 with the edges of the Nokia X6, this 4-inch smartphone is already splitting opinions. Read on to find out more about the Nokia X7…
Two new images of the Nokia X7 have emerged and show that, at least in theory, it exists and will be making an appearance in the US under the AT&T banner. The images show a slightly more advanced version of the handset, finely tooled and finished in an all-black livery.
The Nokia X7 comes with Symbian^3 operating system and is built around a 4-inch screen, which we’re presuming at this stage uses Nokia’s ClearBlack display technology to allow gamers and social messengers alike to make the most of the Nokia X7 in all conditions.
The guts of the Nokia X7 are expected at this stage to be very similar to the Nokia N8, so gaming will be able to take full advantage of 3D and deliver an amazing experience. Combined with the large screen, we’re in for a great deal of fun.
The 4-inch screen is also set to be AMOLED, once again akin to that found on the Nokia E7, and has a standard 360 x 640-pixel resolution. As with the previous leak, we can plainly see the 8-Megapixel CCD with Dual-LED Flash on the back of the Nokia X7, so we know it’ll be bale to record and playback HD quality video.
It is being rumoured that the Nokia X7 will also come with quad-speakers built-in. Great for gaming in private without headphones but potentially annoying for everyone else, should you decide to make the most of them when out in public – yes, rude commuters we’re looking at you!
There is no word from Nokia yet as to when the Nokia X7 will be launched. We’re hardly likely to see it emerge any time soon but with a slew of trade shows, kicking off with CES in January, then Mobile World Congress 2011 in February and even CeBIT in March, Nokia can pretty much pick its own launch platform.
