Love your Nokia N8 but not quite happy with the menu layout? One of the great things about Symbian ^3 is the fact that it offers an incredibly amount of adjustability, and changing the menu layout is one of the many different settings. Join us after the break to find out how to organise the menu on your Nokia N8...
If you're new to Nokia, you may find the Symbian ^3 operating system takes a little getting used to. Like your PC, there are different folders for different types of applications, and this makes it easy to organise everything. Some users prefer to have everything in one place, however.
As with older versions of Symbian, Symbian ^3 makes it easy to change the menu depending on what you prefer. Want everything to be located on the main menu page? Prefer to move apps between different folders? Thankfully both are easy to do.
To get started, click the menu button on your Nokia N8, and tap Options. Then press Organise. As soon as you do this, the icons will appear as individual tiles. You can move these tiles around – so you can have your favourite icons are the top, for instance.
Clicking on Applications takes you to the next menu. Again, you can move all your apps round, or to move one to the main menu, tap and hold it, and drag it to the 'up' folder at the top left of the screen.
You can do this for any of your apps, so they'll all appear when you press the main menu button. You can also open other folders – such as Office – and move the apps from there into the Applications menu, or again into the main menu.
If you've got lots of apps, it can take a little while to organise everything, but once you do you'll have a smartphone that's ideally suited to your requirements.
