Having the latest updates for your Nokia N8 is important. Not only does having the latest firmware ensure that you have the latest features, but it also helps to iron out any bugs that are present in the operating system.

Click on the menu button, and Settings. Then press Phone Management. Tap Device Updates, where you'll be able to see what firmware you're currently running on your Nokia N8. Click Options and Check For Updates to see if any more recent firmware has been released.
If there are any updates, make sure you back up all your contact details and files before updating. You can also update firmware using your PC, and Nokia Software Updater (NSU), but we'll be bringing you details on how to use this later. Keep an eye on our Nokia N8: Ultimate User Guide for more. If there are any updates, click on them (after backing up your files) and install. You may have to restart your Nokia N8 for them to take effect.
