The Nokia N8 features the best camera we've ever seen on a smartphone, but even the best can sometimes use a little help. With Nokia's integrated photo editor, you can get even more out of your photographs. Join us after the cut to find out how...
To get going, simply click on Menu, Applications and Photo Editor. If you use the app a lot, you can add it to your home screen or the main menu – check out our Nokia N8: Ultimate User Guide to find out how.
Once you've opened the app, you'll be able to pick the photograph you want to edit. The menu for the photo editor is simple and self explanatory, you'll be offered the following options: Rotate, Resize, Crop, Clipart, Fun, Draw, Bubble text, Frame, Red eye, Stamp, Effect, Tuning and Animation.

Although most are simple options, and pretty self explanatory, Tuning offers a little more customisation. You can adjust colours, highlights and shadows, sharpness, and there's also an auto fix feature.
It's likely you'll want to adjust more than one aspect, so once you're back to the photograph again, simply tap it to bring up different options, and click the little spanner icon to bring up the main menu again.
It's easy to adjust brightness and contrast settings, and you can also add vibrancy and adjust individual hues - checking out before and after shots. Red eye does exactly what it says on the tin - we've found the Nokia N8 is excellent when it comes to avoiding red eye, but the software helps to reduce it if you're snap does catch the odd reflection.
It's also easy to play around with your photographs - from simple cropping, to adding silly animations, photo frames or clip art images to add a touch of fun and individuality to your pics.
Once you're done, simply save and exit. We'll be bringing you some in depth pointers on how to get the best out of your Nokia N8's 12-Megapixel camera in the new year, so make sure you bookmark our Nokia N8: Ultimate User Guide. Any questions, leave a comment and we'll try and incorporate it into our guide.
