RaceChrono is lap timer with a difference. It uses your Nokia’s GPS receiver to pinpoint your progress on the track and mark your lap times accordingly. The developers claim it is ideally suited for tracking motorsports as well as simple lap trials. That’s right, this isn’t for the athletes out there, as RaceChrono is for petrol-head Nok-heads. How well does it stack up? Check out our RaceChrono video review and see for yourself…
RaceChrono works with both older Nokia handsets and new ones, so whether you’re packing the older Nokia X6 or Nokia N97 Mini, or even the new Nokia N8 or Nokia C7, you’ll find it works. As long as your handset features an integrated GPS chip, there’s no need for any other peripherals.
We’ve tested RaceChrono out on a few different Nokia handsets and found it to work on all. It is a handy app if you like cars and intend to take them to the limit. The layout can make it a little tricky to use at times but the onscreen buttons are large and finger-friendly, however, making it quick and easy once you know what you’re doing.
