Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 Symbian ^3 Software Update

The update for Symbian ^3 isn't a large one – it's just over 1MB, and is called Apps Update 1.0. To update, open the Applications folder, click Tools, Phone Setup and Software Update. Tick Apps Update, and click the play button at the bottom left.

There's no mention on what the Apps Update includes, but as with most Nokia updates it's likely to include fixes for known bugs and improvements to stability.

As always, make sure you back up all your files and contact details before carrying out the update.

    Thanks for this. I have installed this (unlocked UK N8) Apart from a speed increase of general use i cant see any changes (though not played with it fully yet) I still cant install Ovi store after a hard reset but hopfully that update will come later on. Thanks NokNok for the heads up.

    Just updated my N8 and C7…..C7 shows no obvious changes but N8 is indeed faster. I added a game folder when i first got handset and then moved all games inside, It has been very sluggish opening this folder ever since. It usually take`s around 5 seconds to open folder….sigh……Very annoying, but now after update Game folder opens just as fast as all other folders and files..Very very pleased now..Good 1 Nokia

    updated my phone a few moments ago. It was fast before, and no changes noticed to user behaviour. must be a bug fix for some application that was preinstalled. Else this could be a preliminary update that updated the phone to prepare for a much bigger update and only updates the system files

    anyways waiting for my N8 to get the Bigger firmware later this month or next…

    toni, keep trying, it seems that all the N8 users took Nokia\’s server down.

    I got mine just about 3 hours ago. and this update was released like 14 hours ago.

    I have updated the Apps update 1.0 from Malaysia. The size is 1086KB. I am yet to explore the impact of this updates.
