Touchscreen game controls can be both a curse and a blessing. You never know what you're going to get with them. However, despite an initially cluttered looking control layout, MarvTheMiner2 turns out to be quite pleasant. It's by no means complex, but MarvTheMiner2 is all the better for it, offering simple platforming fun.

Touch the left arrow to walk left, right arrow to move right, jump arrows to jump in your desired direction - the controls are actually very easy to navigate. Just as well, because you'll be doing lots of jumping to and from platforms.

The idea is to highlight all of a level's platforms within a time limit in order to progress. It's trickier than you'll initially think. It gets more so late on when enemies get thrown into the mix. Nimble fingers are a must as you'll spend as much time avoiding enemies as repeatedly attempting to reach that troublesome platform. Judging your jump distances using trial and error is how you'll spend much of your time.

MarvTheMiner2 won't blow you away. It's as simple as platform games come. What it is, is an approachable presented title with some fun, colourful, cartoon visuals and simple gameplay worthy of passing a good number of minutes on the train or bus.

The free version of MarvTheMiner2 features 20 levels. The full version costs £1.50, and gives you 31 levels, with no ads between levels. There are better games out there for £1.50. We'd recommend diving into the free version. If you like it, you can always splash out on the full game.
