As the name implies the Nokia N8 Martin Fields Screen Protector Twin Pack is specifically designed for use with the 3.5-inch touchscreen on your new Nokia N8. What’s more, you’ll also find two protectors in the box, so with an average price of just over £9 each, this is a value pack.
The Nokia N8 Martin Fields Screen Protector is made from a high-gloss vinyl that is only 0.2mm thick and feels silky smooth. It’s also blocks 99 per cent of UV rays shining out from the screen while allowing 90 per cent of the light to through, so along with protecting the glass panel from scratches it’s also protecting it from being worn down as a result of strong sunlight.
The main claim for the Nokia N8 Martin Fields Screen Protector, however, is that it’s highly scratch resistant, so you won’t find yourself switching to the second screen any time soon. If it gets grubby from over use, you can simple peal it off, give it a wash and a dry and re-attach.
Now, fitting the Nokia N8 Martin Fields Screen Protector is a doddle as one you’ve pealed it from the protective backing and brought it in line with the top of the N8 screen you’ll find there is a tiny lip where glass meets metal. Resting the edge of the protector against this you’ll find static and gravity does the rest. So much so that we found only one tiny air pocket, near the lip of the screen protector, that was easy to get rid of.
We’ve used screen protectors in the past and found them to be a little too thick, so hamper the effectiveness of the touchscreen. No such problems here, as we found the Nokia N8 Martin Fields Screen Protector to be so thin you can’t really tell it’s there. The end result being the touchscreen on the Nokia N8 is as fluid as it ever was.
