Thor is the next Marvel super-hero to hit the big screen and the missing piece in The Avengers puzzle laid out in the Iron Man, Hulk and Captain America movies. Thor is an Asgardian warrior but suffers, as do all demi-gods it seems, from that most human of traits, arrogance. Thrown out of Asgard by his father, Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins no less, Thor finds himself on Earth where his super-human powers soon come into their own, forcing Thor to become a super-hero.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Thor may be of the lesser known Marvel heroes but he’s been a mainstay since the 1960s so a movie adaptation was long overdue.

We downloaded Thor on to our Nokia N8 and with a full screen image it looks pretty dang sharp. After seeing the trailer, we have to admit that the movie could go either of two ways, being a pompous and slow trawl or a rip roaring fight-fest. Either way, we’ll be checking it out when it gets released in April.
