Nokia E5-00 Build Quality and Design
Nokia pretty much hit the bull’s-eye with the Nokia E72 in terms of touch and feel but it kind of screamed business. So, the Nokia E5 nicely reaches out to a younger and more social network oriented audience. We like that it comes in a choice of colours and the feel of the casing is tough without being industrial. The battery pack is covered with a metal backplate that takes a little finger dexterity to suss but you can be sure it won’t bounce off should you drop the Nokia E5-00.
Nokia E5-00 QWERTY Keyboard
We don’t need to tell you the Nokia E5-00 is all about the QWERTY. The keyboard is there for everyone to see and once you start to use it you find out tactile and thumb-friendly it is. The slightly curved keys make them easier to pick out, making firing off even the wordiest of retorts to friends on Facebook a doddle.

You won’t find a dedicated camera button on the side of the Nokia E5-00 but the 5-Megapixel camera is easily accessed using the Navi-key and function buttons. The single LED Flash is good for most every day conditions, except maybe really low-light, while you can choose between Automatic settings or get fussy with the range of options, such as Portrait, Sport and Night Mode.

We’ve already hinted at the stunning battery life of the Nokia E5 but it’s worth going into it in a little more detail. Aside from the standby time, you’ll get up to 14 hours of yakking time, or well over 28 hours of music playback. We’ve found these times to be pretty faithful as the BL-4D 3.7V 1200mAh battery is one of Nokia’s more long-time packs.

We think usability pretty much sums it up for the Nokia E5-00, the 2.36-inch screen is amazingly bright, so much so that videos on YouTube really pop and crackle when you’re watching them full screen. We also love the layout of the button, the navi-key is a good size and really helps you get around the screen and apps with ease.
