Remember the first time you saw the Nokia N900, or the Nokia N8 for that matter? We’re betting that for most people it was in the form of an advertisement or on-going promotional campaign. The Nokia N900 has come pretty amazing stunts, from the pole-dancing robots to finding the best Nokia N900 hackers. Well, both the Nokia N900 and Nokia N8 campaigns are up for awards. Read on to find out more…

The MediaGuardian Innovation Awards recognise the achievements of the advertising and marketing worlds. What’s more, it’s great to see that both the Nokia N900 and the Nokia N8 have been nominated.

We have to admit that the Nokia PUSH N900 campaign was something of a global monster, getting hackers involved to create ‘a unique hack and mod project for designers, creatives, coders and hackers using the new Nokia N900.’

Nokia Push N900

Agency: Hyper

Client: Nokia

The PUSH campaign encouraged hackers to create inventions from Nokia devices. These ideas were used to generate marketing, devised and led by Nokia's consumer community.

When it comes to the Nokia N8, the buzz was all about making sure consumers weren’t just looking at the technical innovations on offer but at how it can enhance your lifestyle. We have to admit that we particularly liked the first interactive YouTube tutorials that allowed users to choose one of three different personalities to show you around the delights of the Nokia N8.

This campaign focussed on the ethos that "it's not the technology, it's what you do with it". Their approach highlighted the creativity of Nokia consumers.

The winners will be announced on the 24th March at a gala dinner no doubt and you can check out what other nominations piqued the interest of judges over at The Guardian.
