The first Nokia Microsoft Windows Phone has been revealed, albeit it in concept form, and it looks like being a doozy of a mainstream smartphone. Large touchscreen, big bright display and the Windows Phone OS ticking away nicely inside. Read on to find out why the Nokia Windows Phone will look like this…

The first Nokia Windows Phone could well be aimed at the mainstream market, as these early concept designs shows a smartphone that uses the Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 smartphones, both of which run Symbian^3 as its starting design point.

The big difference with the Nokia Windows Phone, from a hardware point of view, is that the design has a more angular feel to the back of it, while keeping the rounded front and sides. Naturally, the Windows Phone 7 operating system will be sitting on top of the hardware layer and delivering the best user experience possible.

Now, news of when the first Nokia Windows Phone will actually hit the market has still to be firmed up but we like the look of this fledgling device. The bright plumage means it’ll appear to all users, so we’re expecting it to fly off the shelves when it finally lands.

What do you think, fancy getting your hands on the Nokia Windows Phone smartphone? Let us know what you think in the Comments below.

I would much rather prefer an Meego device!

Do you know anything if Nokia will replace Symbian with WP7 but continue with Meego?

If not I think that Intel will be really pi**ed at Nokia…

@Dark Lord. Nokia announced there would be using MeeGo as part of a long term strategy – we’ll see at least ONE MeeGo device this year, Elop has promised us that much.

@Bill – We really like it too. Has thta feel of the N8 and C7 about it but looks even slimmer! Here’s hoping it comes out soon!
