We've seen some truly excellent apps from Nokia Beta Labs in recent months, including Ovi Maps 3.06. This impressive navigation app offers lots of extra features over the older Ovi Maps 3.03, including a completely restyled menu and an easier to use interface.

Ovi Maps 3.06 also lets you download maps straight to your Nokia, so you'll no longer have to use valuable data when you're out and about or navigating in different countries. If you've got a Symbian ^3 handset such as the Nokia N8, you'll be able to pinch the map to zoom – another new feature.
Apps from Nokia Beta Labs are still at a beta stage, however, which means they're not 100 per cent finished. Releasing them to the public means that potential issues can be tracked down, feedback can be checked over, and the app can be made better, faster and more stable.
Ovi Maps 3.06 has now passed the beta stage, and is available as a full download. That means you'll now be able to download it straight from Nokia's Ovi Store.
It's worth connecting to the Ovi Store via Wi-Fi, however, as at 8.76MB Ovi Maps is quite a big file, and could use up a lot of your data plan otherwise.
